My Prototype

I don't know  what's this kind of bag called, and whoever had the idea of making this is Epic, but I shall call it:
The Bag Book

Because when you have that Huge McHeavy Book or worse than that and your arms ache when carrying it, plus the inconvenience that it gives you since its over the top that it covers half of your body. this I bet will help a lot.

The idea of this is covering the front and back page of the book with a cloth and putting a handle by stitching on its ends so that it holds the whole thing. This is the front cover of the photo it looks like its a plain shoulder bag but actually that is a book once you see its side but for this unfortunately I forgot to take a picture while its in my possession that's why I asked the owner now of this book to take a photo for my blog which she did it obligingly. :)

while making it I really had no idea on which part should I do first, the handle, the cover, or the design but I decided to the biggest organ which is the cover skin.

1. I measured the book on its original height and width and I add a little allowance of half an inch in case she wanted to use it in some other thicker books.

2. now, once you got all the measurements right, trace it on the cloth, this one I used is canvas for strong hold. and give a 2 and a half inch allowance to the front and back cover because that would be the part where you'd insert the covers.
and we don't want to actually stitch it on the book.

3. did a back stitch on the edges until all of it are done.

4. now the 2 and a half allowance that I mentioned you're going to fold that in up to the original width of the book. then stitch the top and the bottom.

5. for the handle, measure the whole width of the book because that would be the length of your handle. for its width, 1 and a half inch is fine, its your preference actually.

6.attach it to the cover leave at least an inch from the corners and from there start stitching firmly. the stitch that I made was the normal zigzag around the base of the handle.

7. then you can now put designs that you want to incorporate with. may it be the theme of that book or whatever... for this one I covered the whole canvas with white paint and made a tiny polka dots and added the nick name of the owner using gold studs.

This is my Prototype of this kind of bag. I don't even make bags, it just happened since it partly cover-the-notebook thing which is what I do.
seeing the finished product, honestly I am not totally confident on it since those polka dots are not perfect circles, and the studs are not lined. on the other side, i think its not that bad for making it the first time, right? haha! and I hope this is not my last time making it. :)

Your Own Notebook 1.2

The continuation of my work is here!
these past few weeks I have been making these notebooks for my friends and myself of course! (Just because..)

The second notebook is this

its a hard bound notebook so what I did is just change the cover using the clients preference on the color. I basically use double sided tapes since its more efficient, easy to use, and heavy duty. the tricky part for me here is to make it look like it was the original cover by slightly opening the paper on the edges behind the cover, inserting the cloth there spotless.
but after those thingymajiggers, this is the finish product.

I know this is silly because I only took the front cover. will take more detailed photos the next time.

___________________________________________________________________

and here is my third work

This one is my sketchbook also hard bound, the original color of this is black and a bit leathery. I decided to use more vibrant color which is sky blue and since I have this cut out from my Artwork shirt few years ago and it reappeared from its hiding place, I grab the chance to start stitching it over the plain cloth before it disappears again, and the design is quirky.
:)
for the final piece I just add the lace for a feminine touch. I usually add laces not because I have an inclination to them but it just happens. hehe! who knows what I might add the next time? ribbons? feathers? but for sure its one of a kind.

That's all for now!

Your Own Notebook

It started out as a hobby...
 :)

Well, designing or altering/renovating some things for me is easy, I highlighted the word  because I know it's not true to all.
not that I'm overconfident.
 hehehe.

Isn't it great when you'll just do what you love whole day and turn it as a work or business because your previous work didn't work out for you.
yeah, I know the feeling. I sound bitter :p

and since I don't like feeling that way I decided to make my hobby as my mini business.

Making a Personalized Notebook!

  Tadaaaah!!...

This is the just a trial but I guess this will do. hahaha!
It's my own notebook anyway.
What I did to this is change the cover only using cloth, added the lace and flower. I did the flower by myself since buying a ready made flower sometimes don't get what we like, right?
the notebook itself I bought it in National bookstore, so here's the thing, since I can't do the notebook leaves because I plainly cant do it I just buy a notebook and change the cover the way I like it. :)

If you want one for yourself you can buy a notebook and ask me to alter the cover, which I will be willing to do so, with your own design or ask me to design it for you.
If you want me to do it, I need to get to know you personally.
*wink*

It took me three hours to completely change the cover.
depends on the size actually. the size of this one is like this:

3 1/2 x 5 1/2

...and no, that's not me holding the picture.

What about the price?

If this notebook is for sale it would be
120.00 php - 150.00 php
The price actually varies on how big or detailed you wanted the notebook cover is so there's no fixed price.

don't worry the prices will not go over 300.00 php
I mean, what kind of notebook is that anyway? is the paper made out of ancient tree? was the cloth used coming from an extinct predator?

more photos :)

If you want one you can go ahead PM me in my facebook account
which is:  http://www.facebook.com/michelle.gaston.581

 or 09335212242

just like that! :)

Where Did My Saturday Go?

The answer to the title is: In my Head.

I got a few realizations from the beginning of my day and I want to share some of these to you. some of these, i think, are silly but hey, aren't we all like that sometimes? :)

1. I already decided to PERMANENTLY remove my retainers.

I was actually wearing braces for two years after that I was expecting this to hear from my Dentist: "Yes, you're going to wear retainers for one year."
NOT.
what she actually said was this "You're going to wear braces for five years."
the only thing that my brain processed was the word five. I asked my Dentist in my 19 year old way before. "WHAT?! FIVE?!"
long story short I can't do it. so, this is my third year and my last year with my retainers i mean, my teeth did not return from its previous state of calamity so its fine, I guess. (LOL)

2. Parent-Children-Grandchildren-Love.

I was on the Jeepney this morning and heard three elderly people talking about how their children grew distant with them since they got their own children.
"Well, that's how life works." Granny said.
"My love for my children did not change but it was them who changed." Grampa said looking out on the road.
"The love between my children and grandchildren is the same but the love that they give back is really different" the third Ganpa said while tinkering with his bag.

Well, that's deep. I mean, i don't know what to say since I'm not a grandparent myself, but will be soon. hearing them saying those things in their end made me sad and think of my parents also. what is their feelings as to what I'm showing them? do they know that that is my way of showing my love to them (by annoying my brother and sisters, Kidding!)? are they feeling the same as these three grandparents here? would I like them to say these things when I have children of my own? the thought scares me but whatever, it crossed my mind.

It's like I'm having mind time travel in the Jeepney. I'm seeing myself with children and thinking my what my parents will say to me and what would my children say to their Grandparents...etc. like my life flashed before me but not really. I don't know!

3. Shades and headphones.

This is the best way to ignore people reasonably! you pretend you don't hear what they're saying or pretend that you're not looking at them and pretend you didn't see them. like being invisible. I'm not an anti-social here but we do have times that we just want to be alone with ourselves and be invisible in the crowd just because you want to and being alone with yourself in the bathroom is just ridiculous.
Doing that today, and will be doing that in the following days to come whenever I'm alone in the crowd, is nice. I can look straight into someone's face, specially if he's worth the second look. I just overheard people (those three elderly) not noticing me noticing them while having a serious discussion with myself with what they're talking about.
They leave you alone.
Thank you to Bausch and Lomb for their Ray-ban Aviator shades.
Thank you also to Nathaniel Baldwin for your Headphones.

4. Random Songs I Heard Today.

I remembered my teacher in English gave us a homework to list every song that I heard that day, not through my playlist but just around me. that was the most creative homework ever! hearing random songs from different genre and artist while waiting for the chorus thinking that probably I'd remember that title from there. haha! don't ever tell me that I'm all alone in doing this.
the songs that I heard today may it be from the radio, or someone singing are:
The Prayer- sung by my bored friend.
Superbass- Nicki Minaj
Medley songs- Pentatonix
Sunday Morning- Maroon5
Freedom song- Jason Mraz

5. By the end of the day...

I got this:

A muddy converse.
having these sunny events during the day, the rest of the afternoon rained. let's welcome the rainy season with random realization of everyday events with our trustee umbrella and a heart that never back down during life's heavy rain. because by the end of the day it's always night, Haha! but seriously, have you seen a person being beaten down with every shitball that came through with crappy and ill-gotten moments in life that emerged weak after those events? I have never seen one.

we tire after those kind of events but we don't remain tired. we rest then we make another step that soon will break into a run.
so get those shoes dirty with mud and make sure it leaves a mark.

Random Thoughts

Now what?

I really don't know what to say, Haha!

I know it says random thoughts in the Title but to be honest there's nothing in it -yet. I just want to have a blog in case I want to write something, anything about everything. Post photos in the future or video to whatever that interests me or to the places that I've been. everything under the sun actually so please forgive if I'm just explaining what I'm going to do in the following days rather than doing it today, but whatever. it's not yet the end of the world.

Then here's the first question that I would ask to myself:

What brings me here?

Passion to write!

no, too cliche.

 Passion to rant!

Partly. Hehe.

Freedom of Speech!

hear! hear!

Actually I was just testing how to add Photos there.

Gotcha! :)

Okay, I'm getting the hang of this blogging here.
like.

the next time I post here maybe it would make more sense than what it is now, Haha! too Elementary.
maybe soon I get into more serious blogging, not that I'm saying that I'm not serious here, I am actually.
trust me.

I will close this blog by saying:
